铲除草根。亦比喻彻底根除，从根本上消除。 北齐 魏收 《为侯景叛移梁朝文》：“抽薪止沸，翦草除根。”《警世通言·万秀娘仇报山亭儿》：“斩草除根，萌芽不发；斩草若不除限，春至萌芽再发。” 清 杜濬 《同心念一老歌》：“岂独二物性所爱，日来暑病都除根。”
